Marta Mascarello was born in Bra on 15 October 1998 and became part of the Albese youth sector at a very young age. When she was 14, she signed for Alba in Serie A2 and remained there until she moved to Cuneo in 2015. She helped the Cuneesi win promotion to Serie A and then made her top-flight debut with the same club the following campaign. In 2017, she moved to Tavagnacco, where she excelled for two seasons before joining Fiorentina. She didn't get quite as much playing time at the Viola in her first two seasons (one goal in 16 appearances in 2021/22), but she took to the pitch for the first time in the Champions League and also earned her first Italy call-ups. On 4 March 2020, she won her first cap for her country, featuring against Portugal in the Algarve Cup. She signed for the Rossonere in the summer of 2022 and established herself quickly: in her first twom seasons, she made 42 appearances and scored twice, both in the 2023/24 season.
