Gloria Marinelli was born in Agnone, a small city in the province of Isernia, on 12 March 1998. From an early age, she played several sports, including swimming, volleyball and football. Having impressed in regional leagues, she landed at Serie A club Grifo Perugia in the 2012/13 season. She made her debut in the top league at 14 years old, and her first goals followed a few months later (a brace against Fortitudo Mozzecane). She spent four seasons in Umbria, with 28 goals in 86 appearances. In 2016, she transferred to Chieti, where she would stay for a season before landing at Inter Milan and then to Inter in 2018. She dragged the Nerazzurre, with 26 goals in her first season, to promotion to Serie A: in the top division, she bagged 21 goals in 75 appearances across four seasons, whilst she totalled two goals in 26 appearances in her first year at AC Milan – interestingly, the first and last goal of AC Milan's 2023/24 Serie A campaign. Her rise through the Azzurre ranks must also be noted, with two bronze medals (U17 Euros and U17 World Cup), before making her senior national team debut in October 2019 against Malta.
