AC Milan’s first match under Coach Bakker ended in a disappointing defeat. The Rossonere were hoping to get their league season off to a better start and deserved at least a point, but Como were rewarded for displaying a clinical edge. Just a single moment and one goal was enough to resolve the battle out on the pitch, and Nischler was the one to score it. Our girls showed plenty of desire but paid a heavy price for a few too many technical mistakes and, in general, lacked end product in attack.
It was an intense and scrappy match that the Biancazzurre managed to come out on top in. At the Stadio Ferruccio in Serengo, the Rossonere tried to implement what they’ve been working on with the new coach since the start of the summer. However, it’s obvious that there is room for improvement both on a tactical level and from a physical perspective. Nevertheless, the season has only just begun. The women’s Serie A division will now come to a halt for a weekend, with the Rossonere’s return to the pitch scheduled for 18:00 CEST on Saturday 14 September against Fiorentina at the PUMA House of Football.

MATCH REPORT
The match kicked off and the Rossonere started to move the ball around and make ground. In the 14th minute, Mascarello fired narrowly wide with her left foot, while Gilardi saved an effort from Soffia two minutes later. In the 18th minute, a mistake in the middle of the park paved the way for Como to take the lead through Nischler. Marinelli then had two shots at goal: the first one was blocked and the second was kept out by the goalkeeper. Then came a period without any real goalmouth action, with the two teams putting in the hard running and battling away. Dompig and Marinelli switched flanks, with the latter sending in a cross that Chanté couldn’t quite get on the end of (41’). Marinelli had the last attempt of the half in the 45th minute.
The start of the second half continued in the same manner with a lack of threat in attack. Gilardi intervened to thwart Soffia in the 49th minute, while Nischler unsuccessfully took aim on the 56-minute mark. Substitutions were made but it didn’t change the script, with Sevenius failing to convert a cross from Ijeh after 66 minutes. There was a scare in the 68th minute as Kramžar wasted a big chance for the hosts. The Rossonere tried to force Como back in the closing stages, with Dompig (76’), Karczewska (79’) and Koivisto (83’) all having attempts at goal. Swaby was then somehow denied by both Bou Salas and Guagni as Como threw bodies in the way. Finally, Dompig threatened in stoppage time but couldn’t get the better of Gilardi. Full time.
