ASCOLI BEAT MILAN FUTURO: 0-2 IN BUSTO ARSIZIO

The visitors made the most of two set pieces in the first half to defeat the Rossoneri

Home defeat for Milan Futuro who lost to Ascoli at the Speroni in Busto Arsizio. The Marche side won 2-0 on matchday 4 of the Serie C Now having decided the result in the space of ten minutes: first-half goals with Corazza from the spot and Menna from a corner. These two mistakes cost Bonera's side dearly who didn't manage to make things happen in front of goal for the rest of the game. The chances came mostly at the start of the game and the final moments, there weren't many but with more ruthlessness, it could have been a different evening in Busto Arsizio.

Back from the international break with a result that once again postpones our first win of the season, amplified by the absence of Camarda, Bartesaghi and Zeroli. However, there were several positive signs with Coubis featuring in the starting XI after a long injury spell and the impact of the substitutes, especially Liberali and Turco. Luckily, we have the chance to get back on track right away with the game on Wednesday against Torres, the postponed matchday 3 fixture. Kick-off is at 20:45 CEST as we continue on our journey of growth.

MATCH REPORT
In the first 20 minutes, it was Milan Futuro playing better, controlling the game and threatening a couple of times. The first chance came for Samuele Longo in the 7th minute as he picked up a good pass from Sandri to shoot but the Ascoli defence closed him down. In the 19th minute, the same story as Sandri picked out Longo, this time on the left. The Rossoneri number 7 got off a quick shot, taking us very close to an opener. In the 21st minute, Fall shot from the edge of the box but didn't trouble the ex-Milan Primavera player, Livieri. One minute later and the fun was over as Bozzolan's tackle in the box led to a penalty for Ascoli: Corazza converted from the stop, Nava went the right way but couldn't stop Ascoli from making it 1-0. 10 minutes passed and Ascoli had a corner, Menna got to it before Bozzolan and doubled the visitors' lead.

The game was very start-stop with many fouls and bookings - nine in total- and the Rossoneri struggled to get things going in attack after the break. We changed our tune in the last 15 minutes as Bonera made three changes, bringing on Cuenca, Turco and Liberali. The fresh legs brought some fresh spirit to Milan Futuro who came close to scoring: in the 76th minute, Cuenca had a go but it was sent out for a corner. Turco too has a chance in the 82nd minute, less dangerous than Hugo. Turco had another big chance in the 88th minute, born from some Liberali magic in the middle, but Nicolò shot high having lost his balance. The last attempt came for Jiménez in the 94th minute as his shot whistled just past the top corner.
