Zlatan Ibrahimović's Rossoneri story consisted of two spells full of goals, triumphs and unforgettable memories. He first arrived during the final days of August 2010 after an experience at Barcelona that didn't go exactly to plan. A serial winner of domestic titles, the Swede immediately inspired the Rossoneri to the Scudetto with a 14-goal haul. For Zlatan, it was an eighth consecutive league victory after previous triumphs with Ajax, Juventus (later revoked), Inter and Barcelona. The following campaign, which began with a Supercoppa victory over Inter, saw him finish as top goalscorer in the Italian top flight.

After stints at PSG, Manchester United and Los Angeles Galaxy, Ibrahimović resumed his Rossoneri adventure at the end of 2019, making a promise to help the team get back to trophy-winning ways. In his first two seasons, he scored 25 goals in 37 appearances as AC Milan returned to the European stage, first qualifying for the Europa League and then the Champions League. At the end of his third season, the climb was complete: the Rossoneri won their 19th league title, with Swede making an eight-goal contribution. Promise made, promise kept. Zlatan's Rossoneri story came to a definitive end when AC Milan faced Hellas Verona at a packed and emotional San Siro on 4 June 2023, the day that he also bid farewell to football.
