Bonomi

Born in Cassano d'Adda in 1923, Andrea Bonomi would not have reached Serie A if the renown co-citizen Valentino Mazzola had not saved him from drowning in the Adda river when he was a child. Twenty years later, the two guys, respectively Milan and Torino captains, would shake hands in the centre of the field. After joining AC Milan in 1942, the dynamic fullback did not miss a match in the 1950/51 season, when the club won the league title again after 44 years.
