Benetti

Romeo Benetti was twenty-four years old when he left Sampdoria for AC Milan. While playing forward in his previous club, at Milan Nereo Rocco deployed him in the midfield to fully exploit his strength and stamina. Indomitable fighter, he won with the team two Italian Cups and a European Cup Winners' Cup. Endowed with a powerful shot, in March 1973 he scored a memorable goal in the derby.
